Something that is very important to TSPR is the restoration and preservation of some of the historic cemeteries around the northern New Jersey area.  These old cemeteries are rich with history, and some have fallen into neglect and outright abuse.  These cemeteries need preservation  as they are a part of our heritage.

One cemetery that we have put an enormous amount of effort into restoring is the old Cherry Ridge Cemetery in Highland Lakes, NJ.  This forgotten cemetery is located deep in the woods, and the only way to get to it is via 4X4. You will still need to hike 1/4 mile deep into the woods.  The Cherry Ridge settlement no longer exists, but the cemetery remains and dates back to the early/mid 1800's, containing a recorded 20 burials.  During our preservation efforts we were able to identify some burials that were previously unrecorded.  TSPR has also been contacted by several descendents of some of the families interred here.
